Before I joined FASNY, the office's primary functions centered around membership acquisition and event planning. All marketing efforts were externalized until I entered the role and paved out an internal process for organizing projects and dividing and delegating work between vendors and staff.

Impact
Every year, FASNY mails out a holiday donation appeal to raise money for the Firefighter's Home, a nursing facility that provides free care to former volunteer firefighters. In 2023, I oversaw the writing, strategy, and design of approximately 8,000 appeals.
After some market research, I conceptualized a tactic to encourage more overall buy-in and engagement with the organization. Along with our appeal, we enclosed a free holiday card for potential donors to sign and address to our Firefighter's Home residents. The flood of warmth, support, and holiday cheer from the firefighting community was astounding! Fire departments all across New York State signed hundreds of cards, resulting in a >10% increase in total donors and a larger network of contacts.
